“Twice yearly the City of Casey acknowledges volunteers, volunteer organisations and citizens who give to the community at the Casey Citizen of the Year Awards and the Casey Volunteer Awards. The Awards recognise and honour those individuals who have contributed to the development of the Casey community, or have had a positive impact on the quality of life of City of Casey residents through their volunteering efforts.
2010 Volunteer Awards- Christians Helping in Primary Schools (CHIPS) – Winner Casey Volunteer Organisation of the Year Award
The City of Casey’s Volunteer Awards 2010 winners were announced at a special ceremony on Friday 14 May 2010 at the Balla Balla Centre in Cranbourne East. City of Casey Mayor Cr Lorraine Wreford said ‘The Casey Volunteer Awards provide an opportunity to acknowledge the vital contribution of a group of people that I like to think of as the real heroes of community life in Casey – our volunteers. These are people who give up their personal time and energy to make things happen all around the municipality’, said Cr Wreford.
